I'm tugging my ear, Carol Burnett!

So here we are.

It’s not you, you know. It’s totally me.

I love you, but I’m not IN love with you.

You’re pretty. You’ll find someone else. Someone who will treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

The night before I moved to Nashville, Jeff and I spent some time alone in my dark and hollow apartment. I’ll never forget the look on his face when he walked into the front room and said, “I sort of miss this place already.” Suddenly, my head was filled with memories involving Christmas trees and bottles of wine and the curried shrimp I cooked for him on the anniversary of our first date.

As you know, this is the final Fluid Pudding entry. You know, until Fluid Pudding starts up again as something entirely new. It’s happy! It’s sad! It’s Pantone 292!

And I sort of miss this place already.

A few of you asked me to post some of my favorite entries from Fluid Pudding Dot Com. As I work through my archives, I’ll post links to my favorite entries on the front page. (If you subscribe to feeds, I doubt any bells go off, because I’ll simply be editing the list rather than posting new entries. The previous sentence was very humdrum.) If you stop by every once in awhile, you’ll be able to track my progress as I trudge, and if you’re interested, you’ll be able to order a hard copy of Fluid Pudding when I’m done. (I’ll send an e-mail to those who already expressed interest. Thanks for that, by the way!) (My God, this entire paragraph is tiresome! I'm sorry!)

Most importantly, I’ll be posting notice when I have an idea of a launch date for the new Fluid Pudding. It will be before the new year. Hopefully before Christmas. Maybe before Thanksgiving.

And, now, because I’m feeling a bit melodramatic, I leave you with this. And for those of you who hate it, let me just say this: Give the guy a break. He’s dead.

Thank you for your time. Thank you for your kindness.

Thank you for sharing the past five years with Fluid Pudding.

Sincerely,

-A

There's a sad sort of ticking from the clock in the hall and the bells in the steeple too. And up in the nursery an absurd little bird is popping out to say cuckoo (cuckoo) (cuckoo).

See you on the flip side, buckethead.

Wow. A Reno Dakota ref in the last entry. You're awesome, A.

One of my favorite entries of yours was M getting up from a nap, and you listening to her talk about how she needed to "stop pooping before Mom gets in here"... I LAUGHED and LAUGHED. Even Matt laughed.

...BLOGGING! Ha! There, I said it. (I have not yet figured out how to use it as a preposition.)

Seriously, I'm not a mom, or a waitress, I have never lived in the midwest, have no idea who is this Greg Wiggle to whom you refer, and the idea of pig candy does not tantalize. But I have loved your stuff here. You have added charm to my weeks. Thank you so much.

Looking forward to the next phase. Cheers!

Have you seen "Blast from the Past"? There's a scene where Brendan Fraser's character calls Alicia Silverstone's, and he says "I wanted to tell you that I... that uh... that I wish so many good things for you. I wish so hard that all of your dreams come true, and... and that's all I... and that's all." That's what I wanted to say. So consider it said.

I have a question -- I'm planning to make the pumpkin muffins this weekend (spice cake mix + 1 can of pumpkin + 1/2 cup of water) -- how hot do I set the oven, and how long do I cook them?

And by the way I'm totally slathering them with cream cheese icing.

And I'll take the book, too, please. I'll email you.

    Miss you already!

p.s. Still wondering if Meredith has adjusted to pre-school...

Amy--Bake them according to the cake mix directions for cupcakes/muffins. (You can make them into muffins, or as a cake!) I almost forgot about those! I think I'll make some, too!

Meredith is slowly coming around with the pre-school thing. As of yesterday, she cried for less than an hour after the drop off. That was a huge breakthrough.

    in the blog

    over the blog

    under the blog

    above the blog

    below the blog

    around the blog

    atop the blog

    by the blog

    throughout the blog

    until the blog

    by the blog

Well, that about covers it. Thank you for being such a kind blog hostess. Ah! Site hostess? Mistress? I, uh, look forward to the evolution of Fluid Pudding. In fact, I nominate that for the new site title.

Here is the recipe as I have it, but I crazy it up a bit by making it into muffins:

    > PUMPKIN SPICE PIE
    > 1 box Spice cake mix
    > 1 regular size can of pumpkin
    > 1/2 cup water
    >
    > Mix all ingredients together.
    > Mixture will be thick.
    > Spray cake pan (9x13) with Pam Cooking Spray.
    > Spread evenly cake mix in pan.
    > Bake according to cake mix.
    > Serve with fat free cool whip.
    > Cut into 12 servings.
    > Or 24 pieces and equals 1 point per serving.
